Photography Event Announcement


what: learning how to create artistic photographic portraiture with DSLR cameras, studio lighting, and using a professional model


where: Paul Mansfield's Home Studio

when: 7-9 pm this Saturday evening, October 17th

what this tour is about: teaching the student the technique and art of portrait photography. This is a special tour where we will cover:


* portrait shooting techniques

* model styling**

* photo composition**

* studio lighting

* developing your own unique vision through photography

* working on teams as creative collaboration


**These are bonus areas not typically included in our lead off tours.


what you should get out of this training session:


* You will get the experience of creating your own unique portrait photography in a controlled lighting environment

* You will receive expert instruction from industry professionals

* You will have the chance to take photographs in teams, who will assist you in the technical, aesthetic & coordination required to create complete photo compositions

* You will experience on shoot process flow as it applies to working in small teams

* You will get the opportunity to photograph a professionally hired model who is hired to work with you


how much: 20. $ --

* we will provide a professional studio setting -- this is lighting, reflectors, fill-flash for at least Nikon & Canon (available), backdrop, seating, and tripod

* the model will sit for each student and some make-up will be applied for professionalism and the look and feel of the final print

* the student will be given a hand's on session, an assignment, and time to enough time to complete a basic portrait shooting

* once the student's cameras are set, we e encourage students to be creative with their images and enjoy the class as an artistic experience over all


what to bring:


your DSLR/SLR camera**


prime lens** like 35mm, 50mm 85mm with a maximum aperture such as 2.8, 1.8 or 1.4 are recommended -- and will give you a better depth of field effect when photographing people


Also, bring a couple of memory cards, enough battery power

* we will supply the tripod,lighting set-up, and backdrop

** fast prime lenses can be rented at Borrow Lenses.com


** This class is not designed for standard point and shoot cameras. Please bring a DSLR / SLR for this course.


special notes: There is a 4 student minimum, so please reserve in advance. The class fills up fast so get your spot as soon as you can.
